Founded in 2009, Enerdeal joined the EDP Group in 2023. Following this development, Enerdeal is now operating as EDP in Belgium, Luxembourg and France. As a specialist in industrial solar power stations, energy storage and energy management for the private and public sectors, the company is continuing to grow whilst retaining its teams, contracts and locations.
Enerdeal is therefore continuing its activities under the EDP brand.
This is neither a merger, nor a change of shareholder, nor a reorganisation. Only the brand is changing.
A logical next step
The EDP Group has decided to bring its subsidiaries together under a single identity, built around the ‘We Choose Earth’ manifesto and aligned with a specific commitment: carbon neutrality by 2040. The adoption of the EDP brand across its three markets forms part of this approach.
“Our business, our teams and our close relationship with our customers remain unchanged. What is changing is that we are now adopting the name of the group to which we belong – a brand that is very well known internationally.” Grégoire de Pierpont, CEO, EDP Belgium, Luxembourg and France
The strength of a major group
Being part of the EDP Group brings tangible benefits for its customers in the private and public sectors:
Investment capacity. As-a-Service models and power purchase agreements (PPAs) enable customers to deploy a solar power plant, a storage system and a control system without any financial investment. The Group’s financial strength guarantees these commitments over the long term.
Access to innovation. Hybridisation first and foremost: combining multiple generation sources and storage behind a single connection point to generate more power without having to wait for grid reinforcement. The group operates nearly 12 GW of renewable energy generation capacity in Europe and has just commissioned the continent’s first triple-hybrid facility there, combining wind, solar and a 36 MW battery with 72 MWh of storage. Added to this are thermal storage, energy management systems, the monetisation of flexibility on the markets and agrivoltaics. Upstream, the group’s R&D centre, established in 2015, has secured around €35 million in funding and is working with some 700 European partners, notably on the robotic maintenance of solar power stations, which aims to reduce the need for work at height and improve the efficiency of the installations.
A committed partner to the energy independence of the businesses and countries in which it operates. In its strategic plan up to 2028, EDP is planning investments totalling more than €12 billion across four regions of the world. In France, for example, the group announced in June 2026, at the ‘Choose France’ summit, a four-year programme worth €1.3 billion, led by its subsidiary EDP Renewables France and by Ocean Winds, its joint venture with ENGIE. This programme is set to enable the development of more than 1 GW of onshore and offshore wind, solar and energy storage projects across the country.
International coverage. Multi-site clients can deal with a single point of contact across several countries, whilst retaining local teams at each site.
Unchanged local presence
The teams remain based in Belgium, Luxembourg and France. The local partners, subcontractors and suppliers working on the projects remain the same. The projects completed by Enerdeal since 2009 – 400 MWp installed for the private and public sectors – are those of the same company.
